Home Remedies For Under Eye Dark Circles

Many people are troubled by the appearance of  dark circles as you probably think of them. Dark circles under eyes can make you look older than you really are, and those who have them are often told by well-meaning meddlers, “You look tired.”

What Is Causing the Dark Circles Under My Eyes

  • Oversleeping can also cause dark eye circles.
  • Age. As we get older, we lose some of the fat and collagen surrounding our eyes. This loss, combined with the thinning of our skin

  • Allergies. Nasal congestion can dilate the blood vessels that drain from the area around your eyes, causing them to darken

Here are a few effective home remedies for under eye dark circles.

1.Grated Potatoes


Potatoes contain enzymes, starch, and vitamin C – all of which nourish your skin  around the eyes and help treat dark circles.

You Need :

1 raw potato

You Need To Do :

  • Grate the raw potato and extract juice from it
  • Sock one cotton balls in juice
  • Place the cotton balls on the dark circles
  • Leave the cotton balls for 10 min and wash with cold water
  • Do this twice a day regularly for two or three weeks

2.Tea Bags :


Tea contains tannins that have astringent properties – they constrict the blood vessels and capillaries under the eyes, and help reduce dark circles

You Need :

2 Green Tea Bags

You Need To Do :

  • Place them over your eyes for about 15 minutes, after which you can wash your face.
  • Your eyes will feel refreshed
  • Do this daily till you notice considerable improvement.



Cucumber contains a number of antioxidants that help treat under eye dark circles

You Need :

1 fresh cucumber

You Need To Do :

  • Cut the cucumber into thick slices and place them in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  • Take two slices out of the fridge and place each of them on the eyes
  • Leave them  for 10 minutes, and then wash your eyes with cold water.
  • Do this twice a day for about a week

4. Cold Milk


Milk contains lactic acid that has shown to improve the smoothness, thickness, and firmness of the skin. The acid also diminishes fine lines and wrinkles

You Need :

A bowl of Cold Milk

You Need To Do:

  • Take a cotton ball and dip it in the bowl of cold milk.
  • Now place the cotton ball on your eyes
  • Keep it on for about 15 minutes, after which you can wash off
  • Do Once a day for two weeks
